Force NEWTAB to use the current View Mode?

I'd like a new tab to open with the active file display's view mode. Normally, I get a new tab either by opening a folder in a locked tab, or by Ctrl+double-clicking (my mod) a folder in any tab.

Currently, I can save views for a folder and its subfolders, but there are times when that's not good enough.

Example: A folder in a locked tab in the active file display has the Tiles view. It's subfolders are set to Tiles view as well. I change the current view to Details, and I discover that I need to drill down into the subfolder. When I open the subfolder, it opens in a new tab with its saved Tiles view mode. However, since I'm currently working with the details view, I'd like the new tab to open that way too.

Is this possible with DOpus 9?

Thanks,

PS - I've learned a lot about File and Folder Views from the FAQ, but I didn't find any info on this specific issue.

I don't know of a way to do that at the moment. I just filed two feature requests with GPSoftware along those lines.

(1: Make "Go TABDUPLICATE" copy the format as well as the folder. 2: When the format is locked, open new folder tabs using the current format, instead of letting the new tabs get their natural format and then locking to that.)

For now you could make a button which opens a duplicate tab using a fixed folder format. e.g. A button which opens a new thumbnails tab for the current folder:

Go CURRENT NEWTAB VIEW=Thumbnails

I like #2.
