What you think about a custom bar in toolbar, which can show informations send from scripts? It could be useful e.g. in a music-play-script, which shows playing title (that would also make VLC, Foobar or WMP unnecessary) or weather, sys-informations, news, rss and so on. Of course the bar should be resizeable (width) and support textscrolling.
