Hi!
I am about to update a website, so for testing purposes I created a copy of the website (using SSH and Putty) to do the testing on. I deleted the files in one directory and using FTP (standard connection) I transferred new files to the directory using DO 12.6 x64. So far, so fine.
After some testing I decided to delete the whole test copy of the website, so I deleted everything and made the copy once again (using SSH and Putty). When I switched back to the DO window I tried to do the same thing as in previous paragraph (delete the files in one directory). But DO now complains that it can't delete some of the files (I try to re-read the directory but with the same result). So I delete the files from cPanel > File manager. Go back to DO and re-read the directory and it is empty (as it should). But when I try to copy the updated files to the empty directory, DO starts to complain that it can't create certain sub-directories and also that it can't create some files (some files and dirs it can create). There are no error messages in the FTP-log. I then re-started my computer, and after that I could copy the files just fine using DO.
I tried then to reproduce this error - do the same procedures again and the same errors happened.
I then did the exactly same procedures with the file manager Total Commander and no problems at all.
It is a standard FTP connection with default settings.
How can I solve this? (I have seen similar issues raised before, but haven't found any satisfactory answers/solutions.)
