FTP passwords problems with special characters?

I've just added FTP after using DO for a couple years. I've entered two sites. One has a password that solely uses alphanumerics. The second password has a @ (at sign) character as part of the string.

The second site keeps asking for a password-- regardless of of the state of the "ask for password" checkbox. Even when I manually key in the correct pw, DO just keeps re-presenting the pw dialog. For a sanity check, I went to FileZilla client and re-confirmed that I am using the correct pw. (I can successfully login to the very same site using the very same pw I am having trouble with in DO.)

I've checked the manual and can't find any restrictions on legitimate pw characters. Am I missing something or could this be a bug?

I had the exact same issue (DirOpus 11 Pro). My FTP password contained special chars: !(ยง#*
With this password both stored password (address book) and password entered while logging in did not work at all.

After creating another FTP user on the same site using a password without special chars (address book / duplicate, only changed username and password) it worked.

I would declare this a bug

I've tried to reproduce this using a password like "hello@world" (without the quotes) but have not seen any problems so far.

[ul][li]Is it normal FTP that you're seeing this with, or FTPS, SFTP, etc.?

[li]Which version of Opus are you using?

[li]I used FTP > Edit Address Book to set up the site, username and password. Do you see the problem doing the same, or only via other methods (e.g. Quick Connect)?

[li]Are there any other details you can give us about the password, e.g. is the @ character in the middle, start, end? Any other non-alphanumeric characters?
