Full paths in ZIP files

I'm used to using WinZip and I'm trying to create a ZIP file in DOPUS in a manner similar to WinZip. Basically, I want to archive files with their full path and therefore be able to have files in the ZIP with the same name. I cannot find a "paths" option within the "Add to ZIP" command. What am I missing? Do I need to create my own command?

Do you mean full paths including the drive letter?

No, no... I'm sorry... Just paths from the root but not drive letters. Nothing special, just a normal zip operation. I think WinZip's option is "Include Paths".
I started by searching for a filename which occurs in a couple of different places and I have that displayed in a collection.
I selected all of the files, right-clicked and chose "Add to Zip xxxxxxx.zip" and I got an error that says "The item is already in the collection."
I'm sure that was an operator error because you can't add a file to a collection when it doesn't have a real home, right.
So then I had the search displayed in the find window and did the "Add to Zip xxxxxxxx.zip" again. DOPUS couldn't create the file because there
were duplicate file names. Then I right clicked and choose "Add to Zip..." and that caused a pop-up to appear but still, there was no way to choose to save paths.

What am I missing?

In Opus, copying into zip files is the same as copying into folders.

If all the files are from a single place then it's easier to create the folders/paths you need in the zip and then copy the files into there.

If the files are in various places, you can either use a copy filter (so that only the files you want are copied, but you start the copy at a higher level so that you pick up their paths relative to the starting point), or use Flat View (where when you copy you will be prompted to see whether or not you want the paths to be included).

Ahhh, I see. The "folder" concept of an Opus zip file escaped me. So it is not possible to perform a search and drag-and-drop (copy) the resulting files into a zip, maintaining their paths. Do you think that a feature suggestion for such a capability would be warranted? I thought that a drag-and-drop with the key held would be a simple way to invoke the function as dragging a file shortcut is not allowed in a zip. A preference choice of "full path from the root" or "relative path from current folder" would make it even more powerful.

You can do it using Flat View and a filter, which is very similar to searching.

You can't do it using the actual Find tool because the Find Results collection has no concept of a "current folder." (The collection could include files which don't even have a common root folder.)

Okay, thank you very much Leo.
