Isn't Picasa an application rather than a web service? I'm sure you can drag & drop from Opus to Picasa, so there you go - we already support it
There's a Picassa Web Albums service that you can upload photos to in various ways. I'm not sure if there is a published API for it that Opus could use or not. Anyone know more about it?
I use the desktop application only for the purpose of uploading my fractals to my shared online web gallery (http://picasaweb.google.com/Apophysitis). If this could be done from DO, that would be really cool.
D.
I use Picasa web albums as well. After looking at a lot of the others flickr etc I found the Picasa web albums to be the best. It has a great front end to view the photos but it also has the admin side, adding caption, rearranging images etc which is really powerful and easy to use. It also allows me to send links to my albums to my friends and family and they can view them without having to sign up for an account. Also I don't have to use a web page to send invites, I can write my own email and just includes the links. Finally it comes with a lot of space for a free account.
If this can be integrated into Opus like Flickr it would be great.
This is what the website says regarding an API
And here's the link to the API page
code.google.com/apis/picasaweb/overview.html
There's just one thing i'd like to do with Picasa web albums that I can't figure out. I'd like to be able to send a link out to a private gallery (The page with links to all my albums) but I can't find a way to do this. At the moment I have to send links out to individual albums. Basically I want to do the same has what djeaton links to but with a private gallery and not a public one, anyone know how to do this?
+1 here, I'd like to see picasaweb support also!
more one
A nice little bump ... still hopeful!

Funny that, was just coming in here to ask if it was possible for picasaweb support, and here is a thread lookin right at me....
So yeah
+1 here
+1 add me too
another user requesting this feature...
Looks like Picasa is a popular choice.
I made my request nearly two years ago now and nothing ended up getting added so maybe this isnβt going to happen. Although I should imagine their effort is going towards windows 7 compatibility at the moment rather than another image upload service.
+1 it will be good !
Wow..Cool fractals man...Can i use those images to incorporate them as effects in my photoshop work? Looks very cool
Sorry to go off topic..:

I suspect I am teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, but...
It's both.
One more vote for Picasa support into DOpus.
Me three!
Me too.
Does anyone know -
I would like to get a collection of images that I have in DOPUS (file collection) tagged with a certain tag in picasa.
(e.g. 150 images)
How can I do that without the need to open every single file and tag it?
Thanks
I am new to Google Picasa. When you upload an image file, the website keeps the dimensions but reduces the file size, e.g. JPG 400KB 640x480 -> JPG 60KB 640x480. And because of the many viewing options, it also generates a multitud of different URL's for different dimensions. So far i find Picasa web interface frustrating.
But sure yes, i'd love to see Google Picasa support in Dopus, similar to Imageshack uploads with Dopus right-click context menu.
