The other day I dug out my old copy of Opus version 6 and decided to see how much it'd cost up upgrade to version 8. (the program would be helpful to me now, when it wasn't so much back then) But, even though I have a registration code for it (sent to me via email from GPSoft) it's not recognised... so I can't even see how much an upgrade would cost. I tried entering it into the system a number of different ways but nothing seems to work.
To add to this, DPSoft have the world's dumbest tech support request form, with the only alternative for me to ask about this being to download a trial version and then get my email registered through that, so I can use it. Since I couldn't be bothered doing that, I went to the trouble and signed up on this forum to ask. So long story short- GPSoft mustn't want people to buy Opus at all, because most people I know wouldn't have bothered going to the trouble. They'd just go elsewhere.
If you click the big "Contact" button at the bottom of every page on our website, it will take you here where you can find several email addresses for direct contact, including the very obscure sales@gpsoft.com.au...
Thanks for the email link, despite the hint of attitude.
I only decided to use the tech support form because I couldn't find a normal contact.
I guess the big question then is, since you have such a huge support page and a ton of links all over the place which allow someone to (in one form or another) contact you- why do you have a tiny 8 point font link hidden at the bottom of the page which leads you to another page that contains even more contact information, which someone would logically expect to find on the support page (or visa versa)?
You seem to think it's an obvious find. It's not. Your website has far too many tiny same coloured links that it's bewildering to navigate.
I just checked and the email I received with my version 6 serial number also contains a support email address. Not to mention the ABOUT dialog... No need to even try and find links on the "bewildering" website...
Relax- I'm not here to disrupt the utopian environment. There wasn't anything in my post above what you'd expect from someone slightly frustrated... and that at barest minimum you should expect on a support forum.
Keep in mind that this is NOT an official support forum.
It's run by myself on a voluntary basis. Nudel also volunteers in an administrative capacity and the GPSoftware folks drop in from time to time (as well as provide us with free hosting) - but are under no obligation to do so.
