I was asked by one of my viewers if Dopus 13 supported HEIC conversion.
It sort of depends ...
If you have the most recent MS Photos installed (at least on Win 11) it will work to convert HEIC to another format. If you do not have the most recent version - or chose to uninstall Photos? Dopus will pop open a window briefly - then close with no error, notice or actually conversion happen.
The solution to this is to jump on MS Store, find Photos and update it. Then a right click, convert will work properly.
Might be nice for Dopus to pop some sort of warning?
It will do that if you try to view one in the viewer pane or standalone viewer. The message should mention opening the file in Photos first, which will download the codec for you if it's missing. (At least on Win 10 and 11.)
At the moment the image converter skips over files it can't decode. That's on our list to look at, as it should show an error message.
Yeah, my Samsung S21 has the same options - I just leave the "weird" formats turned off. Just makes it easier to dump and share. Don't have to worry about ... nonsense LOL
