I'm running v13.15.3 (Beta) and it's not displaying .heic files in the standalone view. Thumbnails are ok. I tried Windows Photos and it displays them ok. I then restarted DOpus to see if that helped but the problem persists. I also checked to make sure that Windows Imaging Component was checked in the Viewer/Plugins Preferences.
It seems to me I ran into this before on a beta release last year and it got resolved but I can't find a message related to it. Maybe I didn't report it. Anyway, it seems to have happened again. Might be a regression.
I'm having the same problem.
There have been several similar threads in this forum.
I have used the solutions offered in other threads, and the problem gets solved, but then the problem occurs again!
In recent months, I haven't installed any of the usual suspects (Microsoft's HEIF Image Extensions, CopyTrans HEIC for Windows, etc.) on new Windows 11 setups. Yet, Opus displays .heic images without any issues.
(Intuitive, right! There's no uninstall in Microsoft Store, and Store apps/components don't appear in the Installed Programs list. Fortunately, Microsoft Copilot came to the rescue and coughed up that command!)
P.S. In answer to Leo's question, it was displaying the usual message saying I needed to install or enable HEIC drivers.
P.P.S. Other than the usual Windows updates and Opus beta releases, I haven't changed my system configuration in quite awhile. It didn't occur to me to uninstall and reinstall the HEIC driver, but it should have. Thanks for the solution!
