Help and support: Don't start minimized

Dir Opus is a great program however from time to time I need help. For instance: how to stop the prg from starting minimised at the top left of the screen. I would be grateful for advice.

Please be aware that some of us are elderly. I have had gpsoft since C64 and Amiga days in the 80s. Now I am OLD. Often I can't cope with the FAQs. I don't have grandchildren or any others living with me to tell me the meaning of what is written.

Looking forward to engaging your help occasionally,

Nina

Hi Nina,

I think your Opus window has become "zoomed" to just its titlebar. If I'm right then it will look like the screenshot below. To get it back to normal you should click the "zoom" button. I've drawn a red circle around it in the screenshot.

Once the window is back to normal, click on Settings -> Set as Default Lister to save its current state as the default for new windows. That should mean that new windows no longer open like that anymore.

(That is also the way to change the size of new windows: Resize the window and then using Settings -> Set as Default Lister.)

If you never use the zoom button and find that it just gets in the way when clicked accidentally, you can remove it. Go to Settings -> Preferences / Listers / Options and turn off Enable zoom buttons in Lister title bars. There is also an option to Enable pins in Lister title bars which can be turned off to remove the other extra button to the left of the zoom button.

(The other button is the "pin" which can be used to make the window stay on top of other windows.)

If you're still stuck, or if I guessed incorrectly about what the problem is, then let us know!
