HEVC files Crashes DO when using viewer panel

Hi, i'm maybe late to the party,

i'm on the last beta. since recently, when viewing a HEVC file, the viewer panel crashes. must reboot DO, and avoid such files (not easy..)

as well, one of the frustration is that the videos files are blocked once viewed. to delete them, it's not that easy. don't know if there are some tips which can help for that. very frustrating when lot of videos to review, delete, rename/ even when the video is stopped.

same with the thumbs.db file, most of the time, i can't delete a folder after viewing what's inside and which has a thumbs.db file. I must watch inside an another folder with a thumbs.db in it, to be able to delete the other one.
any idea or way to bypass this issue ? thanks !

If it's the same issue I ran into, it's caused by recent Windows/codec/driver updates. You can go back to older Opus version and the problem is the same, or at least was in my case. Hopefully Microsoft or Nvidia (in my case) will fix it.

In the mean time, you can avoid the problem by using alternative codecs:

(Optional: Configure LAV filters to use hardware decoding, via its start menu entries.)

thanks ! i have LAV filters installed due to MPC-HC-BE, certainly it's not configed to use them in DO, i'll do it ! thanks !)
