How can I configure a hotkey (ideally F7) to open the standalone viewer? I want to have exactly the same behaviour as right-clicking on the viewer pane button.
Edit the button and assign the hotkey you want to it.
Settings > Customize Toolbars and Keys, to start editing buttons.
Since F7 is already assigned to the other button, you'll also want to edit that one and remove its hotkey.
Amazing, thank you. I actually tried to do that, I just didn't know how to expand the button. So for others: you have to left-click on the button (in edit mode, as Leo wrote) and this will bring up a dialogue with all the integrated buttons, which you can now edit in the same way as a simple button (right-click and Edit).
BTW @Leo, there is no hotkey shown (see screenshot) for the Open Linked Viewer, even though I have already set up a F7 for it. Maybe a bug?
You have to either add the hotkey to the label manually or, easier, turn on Show hotkey in label for the button.
Absolutely right, as always
