How can i remove the seagate drive icon?

On my new harddisk, there is a new drive icon, obviously from the seagate software :imp: . I´d like to have the normal icon back, but have no idea, where to change that. Has anyone an idea, how to change this?

See if there's a desktop.ini file in the root of the drive, it might be defined in there.

No, the only suspicious looking thing is an "autorun" file containing something like

07EF:0001:0001:0000
[autorun]
open=InstallSeagateManager.exe
icon=InstallSeagateManager.exe
action=Install Seagate Manager

where the "icon=Seagatemanager.exe" is most likely the culprit. I´ve renamed that exe to _xe, but the icon is still there (if this was sufficient anyway). But i didn´t rebooted yet, maybe that would help. Since that drive is unused (besides that seagate stuff), perhaps formatting over would help?! :smiley:

I'd say you'd need to reboot or dismount/remount the drive to have the change noticed.

Now i had the drive formatted over, & the icons are ok now. Thank you.
