How do I make folders always open on the right/left side?

When I open a folder (from uTorrent, in this case), I'd like that folder to always open on the right-hand-side or my dual-lister window. That way I can set up the destination folder on the left-hand-side and drag things between the two. With my current settings, I have to click the lister I want the folder to open in before I open the folder, and it always creates a new tab, which I often end up dragging to the other side. (I often drag from right-to-left, so the last lister with focus is the left one when I want the new folder to open on the right side.) I'd also like to make it possible to have the directory of the current tab change to the new folder, rather than create a new tab OR a new window.

Are there settings for these, and if not, can they be added?

Thanks.

If the other program lets you run a custom command on the selected file or folder, then you could do it.

Otherwise, if it's just launching the folder generically, I don't think there is a good/supported way at the moment, since Explorer Replacement will use the active side if it's opening in an existing window.

Re opening tabs or changing the current folder, that's already an option under Explorer Replacement settings in Preferences.

When I uncheck the "open external folders in a new tab", it now opens them in a new window. Is there another setting that reuses the existing tab?
