How is "Save Format" for a folder supposed to work?

I have a directory structure of c:\stuff\morestuff

I want c:\stuff to be always sorted ascending alphabetical
I want c:\stuff\morestuff to be always sorted descending modified date.

If I do a "Save Format" "For this folder" on c:\stuff in ascending alphabetical then navigate to c:\stuff\morestuff and do a "Save Format" "For this folder" in descending modified date, when I navigate back up to c:\stuff it is now sorted in descending modified date.

Is Save Format an attribute of the on-disk folder OR an attribute of THIS specific lister?

Running dopus 10.0.5.0.4497 x64

Thanks,

Ken

You may have the Format Lock turned on if it's doing that.

Details on how it all works are in the Folder Formats: Detailed Guide.

Thanks leo. That pointed me in the right direction. I was interpreting "lock" as "keep the structure I specified".
