This has been bugging me for years, so I finally decided to ask: is there any way (like a option in settings) to make DOpus always select the previous folder (from which it just went up), after I use the Go Up arrow?
I mean, it is very annoying go up from the directory tree and if that parent directory has many (hundreds or more) folders in it, I need to scroll and look for the directory I just came from.
I hope, I explained it understandably. Thanks in advance for any help.
Yes, you can do that. In -> preferences -> folders -> folder behaviour, check the option "Select previous folder when going up".

jeez, I must be blind, because I remember looking through options for this kind of setting a couple of times over the years 
I like this. I too did not know about that option in Prefs. I did notice, however, that the previous folder gets selected only when you go up by using the up arrow on the lister's little title bar. If you happen to go up to the parent folder by clicking on that parent folder's name in the "breadcrumb" bar in that little title bar, the previous folder does not get selected. No biggie, really, but I just thought I'd mention it.
It should be selected when clicking on the breadcrumbs as well.
