Hello,
I want to create custom folders in my folder tree, but the options available in the preferences do not give me the option to create custom folders in the tree.
If possible, could some one tell me how to do such a thing? I attached an image showing basically what I want.
That looks like the normal folder tree to me. Which part is customized beyond the options under Folder Tree / Content?
Maybe it's because of me being on Windows 10, but mine doesn't have drives and home separate.
I have customised mine a bit, but haven't been able to get it to the way the previous attachment looks like.
Thanks! I understand now. Here's what to do:
Under Preferences / Folder Tree / Contents, select Ten komputer (This PC in my screenshot), then some options appear on the right.
Turn off Display under the Desktop item, and This PC will get its own branch that's separate from Desktop.
You can also move them up and down to get the order you want, using the buttons at the bottom of the list.
Thanks but I already tried that,
"This PC" is separate from Desktop. I just need the drives to somehow be separate from the user folders. Maybe Windows 10 doesn't support such an option?
From your pictures I see you use Windows 11, and that seems to have the "Home" folder for user folders and drives has its own folder.
Turn off the "Show non-drive folders" option.
I'm blind. Thanks!
Sounds like you've got it figured out by now, but just in case here's my settings I use to get it looking like the screenshot. I believe it's pretty much the same since that original video, just different favorites.
The favorites tree branch just has these settings, I think they're mostly default:
Then you can add stuff to the favorites section through the preferences for example:
And you can add stuff to the "Home" section in the tree with "Pin to Quick Access". Stuff pinned this way will also show up in the regular Explorer navigation pane.
Thanks for the extra tips!
I was pretty surprised to see ThioJoe in my email this weekend!
Yeah I was watching your video and liked the layout and struggled to replicate it on my end, but I eventually did figure it out with the help of the community, plus your tips were good finishing touches.
