How to hide folders -and- folder contents in the right window pane?

I have 1 folder with quite a number of sub folders (170) and single files.
In the right window pane, I would like to hide the folders and the contents of those folders so as to make sorting out of the single files easier, all being scanned photos, i.e. moving them into existing or new sub folders.

Is there a way to hide those folders (right window pane)?
Folder > Flat view > Mixed no folders will still show the contents.

If not possible or too complicated, then I'll move the single files only into a separate folder and copy them into the sub folders from there.

Leave Flat View off, and put * into the hide folder pattern under Folder > Folder Options.

(Renamed “Folder Format” for people with the Opus 13 toolbars.)
