How to hide hidden folders and files?

Hello to all!

I just want to ask you how do I hide hidden folders and files?

I have a lot of hidden files and folders and I don't want them to show up in Directory Opus.

I use Directory Opus 8.1.0.6 and I have searched for that option in the Preferences but I haven't found it...

Please help me!

Hi,
Preferances/Folders/Folder Formats/Default Formats/Local Drives/Edit/Filters/Hide Filter/Attributes/Check box H

Tnx, I would never find that by myself!

What about hidden & system files? (they still appear)

EDIT: no, they don't. My bad. I didn't save my profile properly. It works fine now!

Thanks for your help Predator!

No problem, optionally you could make a button and in function box put "Set HIDEFILTERATTR hs" without the quotes and the button will toggle hidden and system files to hide/show.

Well, since u mentioned it...

I tried to make it like this:

But it doesn't work...

Try this:

Set HIDESYSTEMFILES=Toggle

This will toggle the option in preferences for hiding system files (i.e. HS attributes). It's possible there's an interaction between this setting and explicitly hiding/showing files with the HS attributes.

In fact, you should always use this command if you only want to hide files which are hidden AND system. I think using a filter on HS will hide files which are hidden OR system.

(I use it myself.)

Unfurtunately that doesn't work for me...

This is how it looks like:

Well, it doesn't matter. You don't have to bother with it anymore....

Uncheck System-wide Hotkey

Nope, that doesn't work... :frowning:

If the files are currently hidden, unhide them before trying to use F12. If i hide files/folders with that button i mentioned earlier and try to use F12 it doesn't work but with files not hidden before using F12 it works fine.
