Opus 10. Since I first started using Opus, the tab bar showed the number of files and folders and number selected, similar to file explorer. About a month ago, these items no longer appeared. How do I get it back?

In the default menus, Lister > Status Bar will turn the status bar back on.
That will turn the status bar on, but it only shows the Volume, Folder or file name, not the number of items etc.
Are you in a special folder that overrides what the status bar shows?
What do you see if you go to C:\ ?
The status bar is the same for all files and folders. It just shows the name of the lowest level entity selected. At the top of the C disk, it shows C:
If I select the C:\Users folder it shows "Users". If I select the C:\Users\Edwin folder on the next level, it shows "Edwin". (without the quote marks, of course)
BTW, When snooping around the manual, I found some symbols which I thought would be used to specify what was to be shown in the status bar, but I didn't see any way of activating them. Sample sets included one for emulating the display in File Explorer.
What you're describing is the folder tab bar. That's completely separate to the status bar. You can have either or both at once.
Use Lister > Status Bar to toggle the status bar.
I understand your instructions to mean that when I click on the "Lister Configuration" icon in the upper right corner of the display, and then click "status bar" that the status bar should display. It doesn't. What I get is a solid black line with a padlock at the right end.
I typically use a Commander format with a 2 folder display.
The solid black bar is caused by changes Windows 10 made to how "glass" works. It's fixed in Opus 11, but in Opus 10 you need to turn off the Glass background option on the Preferences / Display / Status Bar page.
The GLASS BACKGROUND option does not show in the display of Settings/Preferences/Display/Status bar on my computer. Is there another way to get to that option?
In Opus 10 the option is under Preferences / Display / Options / Show glass status bar (Vista/Win7 only).
(Opus 11 moved it to the more logical place Jon was thinking of.)
AAAAAAAHHH. Thank you!!
