When clicking on Images at Styles, I want the images be sorted by date time in reverse order by default.
How should I proceed?
I tried with Editing Styles-Images-Edit Format, tagged column, selected date/time as sort order and in tab 'Display' tagged reverse order, but that messed up the Explorer Style (columns were resized, attrib column was added, etc)

You may need to edit the Explorer style as well, so that it sets things back. A lot of the styles leave alone the settings they aren't intended to change.
Thanks. Styles was just my own guess, am not sure though. Maybe it changes should be done using other settings?
As you know I always prefer to stay away from Styles: my experience is that when I change something here,
something else is changing along and I get undesired results, like above.
If you want to change what the Images style does then Styles is the place to do it. (Or folder tab groups, if the style loads a tab group, but the Images style usually doesn't.)
Your problem above was because you made one style change things, but then expected other styles to change them back, without changing the other styles as well. All the styles are independent of each other, and will only modify the settings they're configured to modify.
