Hi Ixp. Very much appreciated the quick response and fix.

I have been mulling over this issue for some time and today decided to reach out as I just couldn't see where the delete button was..

Thank you.

I really have to ask, who's bright idea was it to leave off the delete button.

The Delete button isn't left off, it's just we no longer have a redundant Delete button in the Duplicate Files panel. The normal Delete button is all you need, and never goes away.

This is only confusing because you're so used to the old UI, but this aspect of the old UI didn't make a lot of sense if you think about it.

Deleting is also only one of the things you might want to do with duplicate files. Once they are selected, you can run other actions on them as well, not just Delete.

Sorry for delayed response, I was just leaving when I saw your response.

Thanks for responding.

If I never had an older UI I would still find it a poor new UI that doesn't have a delete button after I have selected items to delete.

"The normal Delete button is all you need, and never goes away."

So how can I access the "normal" delete button when I wish to delete the duplicates ?

If its not available then it's not redundant to have one.

I now know that I can use the keyboard DEL key. However, if I wish to use the mouse to delete the selected files then I'm out of luck.

Are you normally able to delete files with the mouse? Then you already know how to do it.

Should be in your toolbar if you didn't delete it.

Looks like you said the magic word(s) : "I have selected them to delete".
Duplicate finder is not necessarily about deleting files.
I have some places where I have duplicates in different subfolder for different reason, what I want from the duplicate finder is to locate them, to check how much space they take.
What someone else could want is to move them somewhere else.

All in all, finding duplicates is not about deleting them all the time (even if I can agree, it might be for most users), and having only a delete button in this window was not the best choice after all.

I give up.

Or just right-click and select delete from the menu that appears.

What are you finding confusing here?

I understood from this remark that there was an actual delete button, that I could not see and that it wasn't available in the area I was working in, as per my screenshot, deleting duplicates.

I now understand that by "normal Delete button" you meant the Menu "delete" item.

I simply completely missed the Menu "delete" option all along. If I hadn't I would never had to post this query.

I only saw it clearly thanks to Wombat's post.

It's a button, which also has a menu attached to it for additional related commands. (What we call a "button-menu", and I was referring to the main button part of it.)

The main Copy, Move, Rename, etc. actions on the default toolbars are all like that.
