Icon problem on local disk and network location

Hello, I would like to come to you for a while now. I have had my icons on the local disks and on the network locations which have changed, they are folder icons and not the original icons.

It is possible to put them back to the beginning ?
Thanks you very much

What do they look like in File Explorer?

Have they been customized in some way?

thank you for your response Leo
no in explorer they are normal

Are all those drives/shares accessible if you double-click them?

yes it works very well it's just the icons that are the problem

I'm not sure what's going on there, but it's interesting that File Explorer is showing a generic disk icon for the C:\ drive instead of the proper system-drive icon (which Opus is showing for C:\, for whatever reason).

In Opus, what's chosen for these two settings?

  • Preferences / File Display Columns / Icons / Show generic icons for...
  • Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: [Cosmetic] custom_network_folder_icons

Hello

The settings look fine, at least.

And it looks like Opus 12 or earlier, which rules out a few other things I had in mind.

It's possible there's a bad shell extension getting in the way, perhaps. If you use ShellExView 64-bit and look at the Icon and Icon Overlay handlers, and try disabling any that aren't part of Windows, then restarting Opus (File > Exit Directory Opus), that should reveal if any of those are involved.

(Ones that are part of Windows could also be suspect these days, too, but I'd try those last as it's less likely.)

(Opus 13 users: You can use Preferences / Miscellaneous / Shell Extensions instead of downloading ShellExView, unless you want to make changes that affect the whole system.)
