Hi, so I discovered a number of files wouldn't open on a share drive. Looking closer at the icons of these files I noticed a greyed 'X' in the lower left. This is a really helpful visual clue but how can I sort the files based on this so I can see all files that are corrupt\unavailable?

Try the General > Availability column.
Do the same X symbols appear in File Explorer? I don’t think they’re added by us.
Sounds like the description of shell overlay icon. You can use PrintMeta to check if it's reflected in one of the shell properties and if it is, add a custom column for it.
They do indeed.
It seems all files that have the Availability attribute of 'Online-only' are the culprits. So I was able to sort by this column
