Been a loyal user of DOpus for quite some time now and this amazing piece of software never ceases to amaze me with new tricks everytime, reinforced by the amazing flexibility and wealth of community driven plugins.
So I came to know that ImageShack would now be a paid service for image uploads, which can be a big no-no for some of us. So just wanna know is there any other image uploading plugin available for directory opus for any web host which offers free image uploads. The imageshack plugin works flawlessly everytime and conveniently copies the image URL link to the clipboard, would love any other image uploading plugin to work like that.
Some image hosting services provide tools or shell extensions which will work in both Opus and Explorer. e.g. where you can right-click files to upload them.
I don't know which to recommend, though.
Now that ImageShack have moved to pay-only we are going to remove the uploader from Opus 11 since there seems little point keeping it.
I agree Imageshack was great but now they ruined it (and not just because it's not free anymore).
It would be very, very nice if Opus team would develop Box.com (and/or any other popular cloud hosting) plugin to automatically upload images to our own accounts on such free services. I would be willing to pay extra for box.com Opus plugin (their web interface is not very convenient in certain scenarios, especially if you need to pause upload). I planned to code it myself but writing Opus plugin seems too non-straightforward for my taste (and limited free time).
Maybe GPSoft could offer this functionality as additional paid plugin (similar to advanced FTP)?
Why I mention this in this topic is that Opus' image upload could then be tied to user's cloud storage provider (Box.com, Dropbox, Skydrive/Onedrive, Google Drive etc.).
Is anyone else interested in this?
ImageShack was the best till it was...untill recently when they have moved to a paid model, I am looking for an alternative, cant seem to find any which integrates seamlessly with Opus.
For the while I have moved to http://www.minus.com with the image uploader from http://z-o-o-m.eu/ , which kinda makes it work, although its not a simple right click and upload (to get the URL copied to clipboard) solution.
Keeping fingers crossed untill a worthy alternative comes along.
It doesn't even have to be an Opus plugin (in fact, the two plugin types -- Viewer and VFS -- are not suitable anyway).
You'd just need a program which can be given a filename, or list of filenames, and the rest is up to it. The Opus side is the easy bit as you just make a button which runs the program and passes it the filename(s), which only takes a few seconds to do.
Please re-add it to Opus 11, ImageShack upload is one of my favorite and much used features of DO.
And yes, I have no problems to pay for something like ImageShack, as well as I paid for DO several times now
An Opus-specific plugin isn't even needed for this kind of thing.
All you need is a program you can give the name of an image file to, and it then uploads it and puts something in the clipboard.
Someone could (and maybe already has) easily write such a thing without needing any specific knowledge of Opus, and it'd be easy to put on an Opus button / menu / hotkey.
