Hi, is it possible in Image viewer to add a open file location of the image being viewed button or add the command to the context menu ?

Yes, make a button or menu item which runs: Show VIEWERCMD=selectfile

Is it possible to just assign the hotkey without adding the button to the toolbar ?

You can create viewer hotkeys from the Customize window:
