ImageShack Upload Stopped Working

Hi,

A couple of weeks/months ago, the image upload tool to ImageShack stopped working. Now, it always error out with a message saying that it couldn't connect to it.

I've seen a thread talking about the user registration code in DO settings. I've created an ImageShack account but haven't found that code anywhere to try to enter it in DO. I've tried connecting from several networks where it previously worked and now I'm getting this error (so it's not a firewall setting blocking some outbound port)

Did something in the APi changed that broke DO functionality? Am I the only one experiencing this?

Thanks,

I just tried it here and it worked ok. The actual address it uploads to is imageshack.us - are you able to access that from a browser? Do you need to go through a particular proxy perhaps?

It might be worth checking your settings under Preferences / Internet / Proxy are correct, and that Opus can access the internet in general (e.g. try the Update Checker or an FTP site).

For the Imageshack reg code: When you're signed in to Imageshack, click My Images near the top right, then Preferences, and the second thing in the list should be "My ImageShack Registration Code" which you can paste into the bottom of Preferences / Photo Sharing / ImageShack.

Thanks Jon,

Yes, I can reach that address and use the "upload" button from there. I don't have a proxy and DO actually checks (and updates itself) fine.

Any other thing I could try? Is the registration code needed even as a "free user"? I never entered it and always used the function "as is", without having an ImageShack account.

No you don't need a registration code (although we are probably going to change this in the future, for now it works without one).

Where can I find my registration code for imageshack? I have an account..

It may be emailed to you when you register an ImageShack account, but I can't find a way to get it via ImageShack's new website anymore.

If you navigate to imageshack.com/contact/customer_service then click on SELECT ONE, one of the options there is Registration Link Request. Fill in the rest of the form and with a bit of luck you will be back in business shortly thereafter.

I just used my ImageShack account again after a longish hiatus and I must say that the DOpus ImageShack upload interface is mighty handy. Unlike this forum, many support sites do not allow embedded images so I can see me getting back into the business of saving images to ImageShack and posting links, all very easily done from DOpus.

Regards, AB

I emailed them and they gave me a login registration link. The code in the link was my registration code and worked for uploading images to my personal account.
