Improving Tab Management and Restoration

I may be overlooking an existing feature or setting, but I couldn’t find anything related to it, so I wanted to submit a feature request/bug report regarding tab management.

My main wish is to better handle tabs in Directory Opus to avoid losing them and to be able to restore them more effectively in different scenarios. Specifically, the following issues have been bothering me:

Restoring Multiple Tabs

  • When I close multiple folder tabs and want to restore them using the shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + T), currently only one tab can be restored at a time. It would be great if the limit could be increased so that more tabs can be restored.

Saving and Restoring Tabs After a Crash

  • It would be very helpful if the current tabs could always be saved and restored after a crash, ensuring that no tabs are lost when Directory Opus unexpectedly shuts down.

Loss of Tabs When DO is Inactive

  • If DO is not active and an external app opens a specific folder, causing DO to start up, one side of the lister loses all the previously opened tabs. I currently don't know how to restore them after this happens, and it would be great if there was an easier way to recover them.

I’m unsure if I’ve missed any existing functionality to address these issues, but I’d really appreciate any suggestions or improvements in this area.

  • Restoring Multiple Tabs:

It depends how you closing multiple tabs at once. There is a command to undo closing a window, for example.

I typically close tabs using the Ctrl + W shortcut or by clicking the scroll wheel on my mouse. To reopen closed tabs, I use the Ctrl + Shift + T shortcut, which restores them one at a time.

You mentioned a command that can undo closing a window. Could you please specify which command you're referring to? Is it the standard Ctrl + Z shortcut, or is there a different command in Directory Opus for this function?

Perfection! Thank you!
