Indexing a drive

Windows 10, does indexing a drive help with searching ? Properties of a drive, the last line. I have always un-selected this line and finally wanted to find out if it helped in a search. I noticed that the search in Dopus does not drill down all the way. Hope I wrote my question so it can be understood ? The reason I asked is my new laptop is a 1.6 gig i5 cpu.(slow) in comparison to my other computers.

The indexing Windows does can speed up Windows Search. Opus can use Windows Search (via the Search field at the top-right of the window).

Opus also has its own internal functionality (via Tools > Find Files) which does not use indexing.

Disk speed matters more than CPU speed when searching files and folders.
