FYI: If the install executable is run as an Administrator (right click, run as Admin) then Dopus will only run if invoked as an Admin. I typically run exe files this way because of my software restriction policies. Running the install file as a standard user resolves the problem.

And there is some other kind of weirdness going on. For example, when upgrading Dopus initially the installer hung because it could not delete/overwrite the old Dopus.exe file. Just a few minutes ago I could not update Ccleaner for the same reason, could not replace the old exe. I'm not sure what has happened here or how to fix it, but it's looking like it's not your issue. Any suggestions on were to search for the gremlin?
Update: I reverted to a Macrium image made about 4 weeks ago and the install issues went away (mostly, more on this in a minute). To recap, all software updates I tried failed because the old exe files could not be deleted. These included Dopus, Ccleaner and Topaz Mask AI. After the image restoration, all updated without incident.
The culprit probably lies somewhere in the malware/AV/OS updates that took place during that 4 week period. They include Malwarebytes, ESET and a couple of Windows updates. I'm not quite sure how to sort out the guilty party but I'll start by checking the online forums of ESET and MBAM to see it anyone else has had similar issues.
Finally, I still have a problem with Dopus if I run the update file as an Admin; if installed in that manner, then Dopus will only run if invoked with Admin privileges. I don't recall every having this issue in the past.
