Intro and Gratz
Thank you for Directory Opus. I have been using it for over 10 years now and it is the first thing I install on any new OS install. I have lost count over the number of people I have converted to Opus over the years. It is so good that I have bought 5 copies of it but only really use 2. It is that good.
Bugs and Suggestions
Before v13 I started accumulating a list of bugs and suggestions for Directory Opus. When I finally decided to post, I saw that v13 was coming, so I held off on posting until after v13.
The list has about 20 open items on it now. It may take some time to get through them all. I am sure that at least half of the items is just me being an idiot or uninformed. I have tried my best to search for previous similar posts for each of them.
The FAQ said to post them one per post, but I am going to first post multiple items here that have been FIXED already in v13. Nothing to do, just would like you to know how much I appreciate them. Thanks!
SUGGESTION: Make some of the text boxes in dialogs bigger (copy and rename) - FIXED in v13
Thanks you so much for this. This is a big quality of life update for my aging eyes. Having to squint at complex regexes in rename was getting to the point where I had to copy them out to Notepad++ to edit them. (Notepad++ could take note of this upgrade too!)
SUGGESTION: Duplicate Lister (Window)
Wow! Absolutely nailed it:
PS: I have used this at least 10 times in the last 10 minutes.
BUG: on the first time into a directory, clicking sort by sometimes ends up in the middle of nowhere - OPTION in v13
Clear the option Preferences > File Displays > Options > [_] Reset focus entry when sorting file list
This used to drive me bananas and this option has calmed me down a lot, but I still want more and will follow up with a suggestion in a later post.
BUG: Create folder sometimes misses enter key and beeps if you are really quick - Annoying autocomplete thing
Fixed in v13.5 Whew!
Plus 3 more intermittent bugs that I can't replicate, so I will just assume they are fixed for now!
Thanks again,
Trev
