Invoking 7Zip shows no dialog and the zip file is shown in KB rather than GB

I downloaded the trial version today. Worked pretty good, but I zipped up a folder and the 7zip dialog never appeared, then a tiny zip file appears with a fraction of the size it should be. In Windows explorer everything looks correct.

Which action are you performing exactly?

Is the 7z (or Zip?) archive being made by Opus itself or an external tool that adds itself to the context menu?

Right click folder in Dopus, 7zip - Add to archive data.zip.

That is running 7Zip not Opus. Opus will pass it the folder name, but what it does with it is up to it.

That said, 7Zip has always worked fine here when run via Opus. Which version of 7Zip are you using so I can try the same? Are you on an ARM machine or anything else that might be a factor?

Opus also has its own 7z and Zip support if you want to try that as an alternative to using 7Zip.

I hear you, but the archive is created just fine and shows just fine in windows explorer. It's just dopus that is struggling with the file. also.. why wouldn't the 7zip dialog open as normal if dopus is properly handing the task over?

Version: 7-Zip 16.04 (2016-10-04)

That version of 7-Zip is almost a decade old. Update it and I expect the problem will go away.

Testing with the current version of 7-Zip shows no issues with it being asked to zip files in Opus via the context menu.
