Iphone sync

Wondering if DO can connect to my iphone 4s to transfer music/photos to and from my PC? I'm looking for a replacement for itunes. I'm currently using DO version 11.7 64x.

Thanks

Opus can talk to MTP devices, which should give you similar functionality to what Explorer has, in terms of which files on the device it will let you see and whether or not it will let you manage music.

I'm not sure how iPhones work for music, so just copying files to the device may not be enough.

Unfortunately you can't use external programs to copy music to the iDevices. This is a proprietary interface and not available to those outside of Apple.
You will need to use iTunes.

MediaMonkey can sync to iPods/iPhones and I daresay there are other 3rd party programs that can do so as well.

Apple have a long history of not publishing APIs for managing music on their devices, and intentionally breaking and encrypting the protocols when they update the firmware, so that is not something we plan to go near, unless Apple now publish a properly supported API for doing so (which doesn't seem to be the case, since iOS 7 broke MediaMonkey, for example).

However, Opus does have a VFS Plugin API which would let someone else develop the same functionality, if they feel it's a good idea. We're always happy to help people write VFS plugins and to expand the VFS Plugin API if changes are required to get new types of plugins to work.
