Is tags (field in metadata panel) part of windows or opus?

I am looking around and I cant see for sure. outside of opus I cant see the tags I attached to a test file only comments. Thanks

It depends on the file format. File Explorer only supports the Tags field in certain formats (e.g. JPEG files) while Opus will write it to anything*, storing it in NTFS ADS metadata if needed.

(*Provided the file is on an NTFS format drive.)
