In details mode? No. How would you know what anything is half the time without the headers?
Column headers are present in all modes AFIK.
Having a command to turn them on or off would be useful IMO.
Removing clutter helps workflow by reducing the confusion caused by too many elements to choose from, so in context I am defining clutter as anything that is not being currently used - the simplified interface -
Column headers can easily be turned on with a single-click to adjust width or sorting and then removed again if wanted.
