I have a weird problem. I have 2 image viewers installed on my PC. FastStone and Acdsee 2026. When I double-click on a JPG from within DO it opens in Acdsee. Yet Faststone is the Windows default viewer for JPG files. However, when I open the same file from Windows Explorer, Faststone is used, as it should.
I did not think there was a setting that would cause this behavior. I thought DO only used its internal viewer or whatever Windows has set as the default.
How can I get DO to respect Window's default image viewer.
I tried with 2 other file formats... CR2 and TIF and both open as expected in Faststone when clicked on in DO.
In Opus, check under Settings > File Types > JPG in case something has explicitly set it to open Acdsee. We’ve seen that in the past with Acdsee specifically.
Check the Actions and Events tabs. It may also be worth checking the Images file type group, near the top of the list.
If those look OK, try right-clicking a JPG file, then Open With > Choose Default Program. That may also resolve the problem.
I think Acdsee itself may change Opus config files, but have never been able to reproduce it.
That or people are using a config file someone else made, but every time I’ve asked about that in a thread on this issue over the years, I’ve never gotten a reply.
It is my own config file I have used for years. Slowly building it up little by little. I dont recall having had this issue before I installed Acdsee2026. I had 2025 installed and if i recall it had worked fine then.
