Hey team.

Like, I just received 6 emails within seconds of each other on my current email address.

The titles are:

[Directory Opus Resource Centre] [New Releases] Announcing Directory Opus 13 - Public Beta now open! - Signed Jon October 2 2023
[Directory Opus Resource Centre] [New Releases] Directory Opus 13.0.35 (Beta) now available - Signed Jon October 4, 2023
[Directory Opus Resource Centre] [New Releases] Directory Opus 13.0.36 (Beta) now available - Signed Leo October 6, 2023
[Directory Opus Resource Centre] [New Releases] Directory Opus 13.0.37 (Beta) now available - Signed Jon October 12, 2023
[Directory Opus Resource Centre] [New Releases] Directory Opus 13.0.38 (Beta) now available - Signed Jon October 16, 2023

All received February 15 2024 at 17:36 (North American Eastern Time).
Yes, it's Febuary 15 2024 and I just received emails that I should've received in October of last year.

What the heck?!

I think you have some glitch to fix. This is not fun at all and you could be seen as spam by servers worldwide...

It's because we moved some threads to close an unused forum. Wasn't intentional, but the emails can't be un-sent either.

I am as well.

I didn't expect the forum to generate emails just because some threads were moved, but it did. Nothing we can actually do about it after the fact.

I came here to say exactly the same, lots of mails from old beta versions :3

I found a thread about the problem which at least included a forum setting to prevent it happening again.

There may still be some more emails queued up, but it shouldn't happen again after those are finished.

It wasn't deliberate, unfortunately moving messages from one forum into another triggered automatic alerts for anyone who had signed up for notifications. All you have to do is delete them and move on...

I already unsubscribed via the email link for all new release notifications. Stop spamming me like crazy with so many emails. Sheesh. Get a grip on your email distribution.

We reorganised some posts in the forum and unfortunately it triggered notifications for people who had signed up for email alerts, as you presumably did. Sorry about that.

You may wanted to send another email (or simply notification?) to explain what happened, I spent like 20 mins trying to figure out which notification toggle I haven't turned off only to find it was a unintentional bug when I decided to report it :smiling_face_with_tear:
