Problem:
I want to mark (automaticly) a folder as checked (label), if all files in this folder marked with the same label
It could be done using a script column which a label filter then checked, but it would not be very efficient.
Each time a folder was refreshed, the script would then need to look inside all sub-folders, and within each sub-folder look up the labels of (potentially) all files to see if they were all checked or not, to then decide on the sub-folder's label.
If you only want it in particular locations and those locations do not have many files below them, it might not be too bad as you could make the label filter check the path first before checking the script column. (So the script would only be called in certain folders.)
Ok. What do you think, how can I resolve my problem?
Series 1 (Folder)
After I have shown an episode, I mark the file as shown. After the last episode I must mark the season as shown - it is circuitous.
Sorry, my English is very bad. I hope you understand my problem/question.
Would you also want Series 1
to also be flagged when all the episodes below all the seasons are flagged?
Either way, it can be done, if you don't mind it being a bit inefficient (may take a few seconds in a large folder). The general description of how to do it is above. If you need more detailed help or for us to write the whole thing for you, please link your account. (If you need use to do the whole thing, it may take a little while as this week is quite busy.)
As an alternative to the idea above, you could also make it so when you mark the files it updates the parent folders. That would be more efficient. (It would only have to do the extra work when you marked a file, not every time you refreshed the parent directory.) But it that would not automatically un-mark the parent folders if you then added a new file, so I don't think it would work as well as my first idea.
Ok, I understand: There is no easy way. I think it is to complex. So it is better I do it manually. It's ok!
Thank you
We can help with the complex parts if you link your account.
Ok. What do you mean with: "link your account"?
