After reading more posts in this thread, I reverted back to 13.12 and its back to normal.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, could you please try 13.12.2 and report whether the issue still occurs or not.

Installing 13.12.2 Beta resolved the icon problem.
With 13.12.2 icons are back for
Windows 10 21H2 Build 19044.3324
Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.5131
Same here. 13.12.2 fixed the missing icons, but icon sizes go crazy for external image file icons.
Sometimes they are huge, making the toolbars expand like crazy. (Happened in 13.12.1 at least, not seen it yet in 13.12.2, but it happened "after a while" after installing 13.12.1, so might still happen 13.12.2, I'll update my reply if it happens.)
But more persistently, even in 13.12.2, all icons from external image files seem to be stuck at small scale, even when set to Show image = large, just like user fkast is saying.

The only thing that came back is when you have details or small icons, Thumbnails and tiles. Large icons shows no icons, neither folders nor files, while all other modes show folders. In all other modes the icons are missing as I wrote in my previous post. The toolbar icons are still the wrong size, they do not go up to large size.
For me icons in Large Icons are still not displayed correctly (or rather at all).
All other view modes seem OK.

Gone back to 13.12 back to correct size
We think we've found the cause of the large icons issue some people are still seeing in the .2 beta (I also see it on one of my machines). We'll have a further fix in .3.

My icon images in the menus are all too small (around 16*16), whereas PNG images are displayed as usual. The 2nd beta did not fix the bug.
We'll have a further fix in the .3 beta like I said.
