Won't the most recent folder almost always be the one that's displayed in the existing pane? (There's already an option to open the second pane showing the same folder as the existing one.)
Yes you are right. Actually I was meaning the most used (most visited) folder, sorry about that. I am using the “Use SmartFavorites” option but when I am on single folder display and switching to dual, the second panel always launches with my USB flash card.
Can I make SmartFavorites to put highest on the hierarchy the most frequent visited folders?
Go to Preferences and edit your SmartFavorites settings. Normally they don't add to a folder's popularity count if you just visit the folder on the way to somewhere else. If you change that then I guess you'll get what you want. Not sure.
This is not working. Although that I have checked the option "Set new window to source when switching to dual file display", following happens:
I open a single lister (which has the focus of course) and therefore has green color
I press the keyboard shortcut that I have set to toggle dual mode (Set DUAL=Toggle)
The newly opened lister has the green color (which indicates that has the focus) and the lister that I was previously has the orange color (indicating that it hasn't the focus)
However when I press any key or keyboard shortcut, this applies to the lister with the orange color (the initial lister) and not in the newly opened lister with the green color.
For example I press my shortcut for dual display, the new lister is colored green and the old orange, but when I press the down arrow to scroll down the list, the first lister receives the keystrokes.
I think that's the wrong option for what you want to do. It sets the new file display to be in Source mode when it opens, instead of Destination mode. It doesn't define the path that the new file display will use.
Try Listers - Layouts - Default Folders where there's a Same folder as primary file display option above the Use SmartFavorites option mentioned before.
Also, Source and Destination are independent of the input focus, although the lister with the input focus is usually the Source.
