Lister is unresponsive. I can scroll the list of files, but can't select them. The close button and other window controls, including resize and dragging the title bar to move it, do not work.
It may be unrelated, by I archived a folder with 7zip before this happened. I've not had this issue using 7zip before in Opus 13, or with Opus 12.
Edit: Correction, I was able to reproduce it by creating a 7zip archive and then deleting the directory that I just archived. I think it's the deletion that causes the freeze.
I added a folder to a 7zip archive via the 7zip context menu items.
I then deleted that folder by selected it in the lister and pressing shift-delete, as I normally do.
Directory Opus 13.5 Build 8871 x64
OS 10.0 (B:22631 P:2 T:1) SP 0.0
(Windows 11, up to date on patches)
150,000 files of mixed types, from source code to executables. I run Microsoft Antivirus, I've seen that cause performance issues with Thunderbird mail exports before.
I had the same unresponsive issue just now, but when deleting files. Can scroll but not select anything, I get the Windows error chime when clicking the window. None of the controls work, can't close it, can't move etc.
This time I extracted some old backup archives with 7zip. I then checked them for an old photo I was looking for by browsing with thumbnails, saved it somewhere else, and went to delete them. When I permanently deleted them with shirt-delete and select OK, the lister froze.
This was on the same network drive as before.
So I think it's pretty much certain to be the delete, nothing to do with 7zip. This only started happening since upgrading to Opus 13. I'm currently on 13.6.
Another incident today. Different network drive this time, not viewing the folder that the data was being deleted from either. I navigated away from that folder while the deletion was in progress, and the freeze happened while viewing another one.
The data was extracted with 7zip, but 7zip was closed long before the freeze.
Okay, I'll do it next time, if it happens on some non-NDA stuff. Unfortunately most of the times it's with directories full of proprietary source code.
I'll DM you a dump in a moment. The freeze was slightly different today.
I was copying some source code over and decided to cancel the operation, to use FreeFileSync instead. After cancelling the operation, the list was unresponsive.
If it matters, this copy operation was the one that had the corrupt copy dialogue graphic and resize problem.
It's likely this problem, which was fixed in 13.9.1 beta:
Fixed Lister sometimes not responding to mouse/keyboard input after file operations. (Tied to timing, Progress dialog configuration, and operations which prompt for input.)
