I use the lastest beta and noticed after disabling the Tab-Labelizer script (and aaaall other scrips + restarting DO btw.), that..
The titles of my default listers do not change anymore. My default lister opens a locked tab "d:\dat\gfx\photo", and the listers title is still set to what the Tab-Labelizer would have set it to, although it is not active (as I said, all scripts disabled). If I open another lister, default DUAL e.g., the lister title updates as expected.
For those lister which update the title, a newly opened tab does not update the title (it' stuck to the tabs folder name that was active before).
I would say this is something I noticed for some time, fwiw.
If you select a new empty tab, switch back to a previous non-empty tab and then activate that empty tab again, the lister title is totally blank.
In previous versions it would have "Directory Opus" by default if I remember correctly.
Of course Leo! o) I would never expect you to know what my script does, that's why I used the first line of the post to inform you, that I disabled all scripts! o)
If the Lister came from the default Lister or a saved layout, and it was saved with the modified title, then the title will persist until it's changed, whether scripts are running or not.
Do they and they even get saved?! Then I learned something new. I admit I never ever used "Go TABNAME" and "Set LISTERTITLE" to fix things permantly, always tried to set new captions with these commands by script, which then are changed again for the next tab you activate and so on. Sorry for that! o)
So #1 is my fault. #2 and #3 and matching screenshots still remain, I retested things using "Set LISTERTITLE" right before to clear any possible left overs. May I ask what lister title DO gives you, if you open an new empty tab, then activating the previous tab and then the empty tab again? Is it a totally blank caption as well?
[ul][li]If I open a new tab the title updates fine.[/li]
[li]If I open a new empty tab, the title does not update, which seems wrong.[/li]
[li]If I switch from the empty tab to another tab, and then back again, the title changes to "Directory Opus"[/li][/ul]
So it seems the only problem is the title not updating initially when an empty tab is opened?
I guess you mean a new tab with a folder loaded, that's ok here as well.
Ok, then we probably have something here, as I think this seems odd as well.
Ok, the blank caption for me, when doing the same, seems to be related to a special lister title setting / %N = name of the current (source) folder:
If I do not check any of the checkboxes, the title switches to "Directory Opus" like it is for you. So when there's no folder loaded in the tab, then there's just no caption if you use "%N", one can live with that I think. o)
