Location Types In Location Bar Expanded in Folder Tree

Hi,

I tried searching for this but I guess I had a hard time articulating my issue in search terms. I want to be able to type a network share location into the Location field and have the folder tree expand to that location.

I'm using Windows 7 and there seems to be a bit of a problem with Network Neighborhood in that sometimes I can't see any of the other computers on our domain. Usually, refreshing the window will get them to show up in the list but they still don't appear in the folder tree. If I right-click on Network in the folder tree and select Open, then in the new window the computers appear in both the list and the folder tree and then typing in the Location bar causes the tree to expand to my location. I don't see anyway to refresh the folder tree without opening a new window as I said above.

I'm new to Directory Opus so I'm sure I'm missing a setting somewhere or something.

Wow...no way to edit post that I can see. Anyway, subject was supposed to be "Location TypeD in Location Bar Expanded in Folder Tree".

I just discovered that if I change style tabs and change back (after refreshing the network panel) then my folder tree contains all of the computers in our domain. Guess that resolves my issue but it would be nice if it loaded all the computers at start up instead of forcing me to manually refresh.

The folder tree currently relies on being able to enumerate the network machines, which can be slow or not work at all sometimes in Windows:

As for not being able to edit posts, the reasons for that are outlined in the FAQs.

Thanks Leo...as I figured I wasn't articulating my search criteria very well. I should have used more technical terms.

Since the ability to update the tree when typing a UNC path in the location bar was in the feature request list back in March, and idea when it will become a reality? I'm currently on a trial and this is a key requirement for me. I can live with my work around for now but I don't want to be stuck doing that for the long term.

You'd have to ask GPSoftware rather than the forum, but they rarely comment on future plans in case the plans change and people get annoyed.
