I just synced two folders with all of my work notes, transmittals, and drawing references in three differenct "Mybase" files. I had the source and destination reversed. I did not loose a lot but I will have to re-enter this mornings revisions. I have a tab set called "Sync Note" with the two folders I will be syncing @ least once a week and the sync panel is open. Is there a way to lock the source and destination so that this will not happen again?
If you use tabs, you can lock them in a couple of ways, for example with the option "allow folder changes", or, if this isn´t convenient, you can save (& load) that specific setup as a lister layout (-> options -> save this layout). you can make a command like PREFS Layout=layoutname.
Thanks abr.
I have the layout saved as a lister style. This is perfect.
You can make it so you have to manually change the source/dest in the synchronize panel, i.e. so it does not follow the file displays.
To do that, click the lock icons next to the sync panel's source & destination fields so that they are unlocked. (The lock icons mean the fields are locked to the file displays, not that they are locked from changing.)
Thanks Leo.
Wether I lock or unlock the folders, when I press the "swap source and destination folder" button, the source and destination swap. The lock seems to have no effect. What am I missing?
OK. I just read the documentation pertaining to locking the folders.
Now, I understand. It helps to read. Thanks for the help.
Not sure I understand. Why are you pushing the swap source & destination button in the sync panel unless you want them to swap?
Edit: Just saw your later reply so ignore this.
Just trying to figure out how all of this works. I understand it now. All is well.
Thanks
