I have been experiencing load times up to 30 minutes with Opus 11.3, ever since I installed it, and re-install has not fixed it.
Today, I installed Opus 11.3 beta 1, and lo and behold! Opus is loading virtually instantaneously, which is what I have previously learned to expect.
I note there is no mention of a fix for this in the list of changes for 11.3 beta 1. Was there, nonetheless, a change made which just was not mentioned?
I had been on the verge of re-installing Windows itself to try and overcome my problem, but now all is beautiful in the garden. I'd just like to know why.
I hope you mean seconds Or perhaps you are on a dinosaur computer?[/quote]
No, it really was minutes, and my PC has an Intel i7 CPU, and 8GB of RAM. That's why I was so puzzled.
Opus is loaded at startup, and for the first 20 minutes nothing would appear, then gradually the border, then some colour, then some icons, and finally, the file details would fill in.
Meanwhile everything else I load at startup continues to behave perfectly normallly! I would be working with other programs while waiting for Opus to appear.
Fortunately, since the new beta, Opus is behaving itself again. Leo says "coincidence." and that's based upon his knowledge of what that beta is about, which I accept, Nonetheless, the reversion to normality appeared at the first bootup after the load of the new beta. So, a very happy coincidence indeed.
If I did make another change myself, I'm darned if I know what. As I said, a mystery, but I'm not complaining.
30 minutes to load a program is a severe problem. Hope for you it doesn't reappear in later dopus versions.
Do you still use O&O defrag? I tried it once and it messed up my windows booting (windows got slow at startup). Also worth trying to disable stuff that is booting with windows .

I did go through disabling my startups as SOP, but it made no difference. However, right now, cross-fingers, all is fine.
