Looping playback in viewer

Dopus 13 playback in viewer works a lot better for me than the old plugin system, but that seems to have lost the plugin ability to loop videos - a feature I use a lot on my dance training vids. any chance this could be added in settings and/or ui ?

Should be possible. If you need it immediately, copying the movie.dll from version 12 to 13 should work (while losing the new plugin's functionality, of course).

Hi Leo, I also recently picked up Dopus 13 and was disappointed to see this feature missing. Love the other improvements so I hope this can be added soon!

I would also like to have loop functionality. Where can I download movie.dll version 12?

Officially here. Ignoring proper channels here: movie.zip (275.5 KB)

Thank you! Well, I replaced it and restarted (killed the task) Dopus, but the player still looks the same and there is no loop option in the player settings or on the panel.

Don't kill the process except as a last resort. It can corrupt your config. If you want to quit Opus, use File > Exit Directory Opus, or the similar option in the tray menu.

If the movie viewer looks the same before and after, you didn't replace the DLL properly, or are using something other than the Opus viewer to play videos. The Opus 12 and 13 movie viewers look very different (in terms of toolbars below the video; the rest is the video, of course).

Hey Leo is there a specific reason why the new player does not have looping? Every player I can think of has it. Would also really like this feature to be implemented.

No particular reason. I plan to add it to the new player at some point in the future. (The list of things to do is very long, of course.)

Has this been added yet in a newer version? The fix above didn't work for me, and instead just disabled the video plugin all together.

Not yet.

Looping will be added in the next beta.

@Leo
good job !
is there a command argument for show to enable loop ?

There’s a button in the video player, like there used to be in Opus 12. I don’t think anyone has asked for a command to control it.

@Leo i use show command to call standalone viewer ,meantime enabling LISTERLINK AUTOFILELIST USEEXISTING and so on, I hope enabling looping each time the viewer is opened, i don't like mouse clicking to enable loop every time, so annoying.
by the way, i found a issue about the looping button, reproduction steps :
1 open viewer for a video A, press looping button to enable looping,
2 switch to another video B, the looping is still valid, good :+1:
3 switch to another non-video C
4 switch to another video D, the looping is disabled , oh , i need to enable it again by cliking that button, its so annoying

We'll make it remember the loop state.

@Leo add a loop switch argument for show command, please, thanks

I don't see a need for that, and it'd require building a mechanism for commands to work with viewer plugins, which isn't something we do anywhere else in Opus as far as I can think.

@Leo Or add a checkbox play option in video plugin settings: "enable loop playback default"

@Leo add a viewer plugin option, "enable loop playback by default", this don't need "mechanism"
