Lost Password

I lost product password. To get a Temporary quick fix I installed the trial version of Opus. I got the trial, figuring to deal with the problem in a week or two. All I have been doing for the last couple of months is putting out fires do to employee ID thief and damages, vandalism, to my systems.

Problem: After my install to my portable I went back to my Desktop computer and opened Opus it had none of my changes from months of work. I do have a back up so that's not the issue. It looked as if I just installed it as a new install. What bunny got into my computer to do this. Now I KNOW that what I did on my portable can have no affect's on my Desktop. Right? The reason for this question is I'm hoping to get some insight to what can or did happen. I know we are tech's and not the local police. But I do have a few concerns to what might have happen.

  1. Using a trial on Portable effecting my registered copy on my DeskTop.
  2. Someone remotely hooked up to my DeskTop and missed my Opus up.
  3. Somehow I thought I was installing on my portable and from the portable installed a new install on my DeskTop.
  4. Still scratching my head!

It might be a dual display, added the last time I sent computer out for repairs, might be an issue. I can now log in one box as Admin a and another box as Me, not something I prefer. I think the system might have gone done, during the evening, and on a reboot it logged in as an admin. Sounds strange but might be the problem.

Do you mean your Opus registration details? You can retrieve them here: Lost Registration Retrieval.

By default, Opus settings are stored separately for each account. (You can switch to "shared" configuration mode to change that, so they are stored in a central place for all accounts on the same computer.)

So if you log into the computer as your own account and configure Opus, and then later log into it as the Administrator account (or some other account), that would explain why you are not seeing the changes you made to your settings. You should see them again if you log into the account that you were using when you made the changes.

Very painless. Thank you.
