Make mouse wheel act the same as UP/Down arrows within folders?

I tried searching in preferences for what the setting might be if it existed.. I tried a few that seemed close but after 15-20,mins I cant seem to find it, if it exists.(sure it does)

So one notch of the mouse wheel would move the file selection up or down by one item, rather than scroll the list up and down?

Have I understood correctly?

that could work but I suppose but mostly I was just refrencing at how it scrolls through the folders/files was wonderig if you could make mouse wheel work similarly

Moving the mouse wheel up an down already scrolls the list of files up and down, the same as in all normal Windows software.

If that isn't happening, check that your mouse drivers aren't configured to do something special when Opus is active, or anything like that. Things like AutoHotkey can also change what the mousewheel does based on the active window, if you use that.

If you mean something different, please explain in more detail.

I think we are thinking of different things? or are we not? Im talkiing about lets say for example you have a folder full of images. Once an image is selected without presssing anything else you can mouse wheel up or down smoothly going through the files .. I cant do that if thats the default I need you to show me

So you want it to move the selection instead of scroll the file list? That’s what I asked in my first reply, but it seemed you wanted something different.

You’d probably need to use a tool like AutoHotkey to turn wheel turns into cursor keys. Or do the same with mouse drivers if they let you configure actions based on which program is active. AutoHotkey would make most sense as it’d let you make the change only for file displays and not everywhere else, assuming you still want the mouse wheel to do standard scrolling everywhere else.

I don't think it has been explained exactly what "up or down smoothly" means to you.
