After upgrading to 13.4, when I click on an .md file DO stand alone viewer is displaying the file as plain text instead of rendering it as markdown as in previous version.
I've read release notes and found nothing related to stand alone viewer that would result in this.
How do I get stand alone viewer to render markdown in DO 13.4?
Before updating to 13.14, when I double clicked on an md file in OD it would open OD stand alone viewer window and markdown was rendered as markdown, not displayed as plain text. When I double click on it now OD stand alone viewer opens but markdown is displayed as plain text.
To answer your question, when I open Windows Explorer, select an .md file, and open the Preview Pane, "This file can't be previewed" message is displayed in the Preview Pane.
Just downloaded 13.10, spun up a Window SandBox and installed DO there and when I open an md file in DO viewer it is displayed as plain text.
Not sure what is happening and how this is possible but prior to this latest update DO viewer was actually rendering md files as markdown, not displaying plain text. Weird.
@Leo I did find your page with a list of DO plugins and I see there is no plugin for MD there. Is it still the case that officially DO viewer cannot render markdown documents and there is no plugin for that?
Turns out it was PowerToys markdown preview handler that was being somehow used by DO.
When I opened PowerToys settings, under File Management > File Explorer add-ons, Markdown handler was showing as turned on, so I turned it off and back on, restarted DO and now when I double click on an md file in DO, the internal viewer is now rendering MD documents apparently using the PowerToys Markdown preview handler.
