Marked files in external file viewer > Cut All functionality

I found a very nice workflow going through images and making selections using the marking feature of the external file viewer.

However, I'm missing an option to select all marked files in Directory Opus, or cut the files so they are in my clipboard as "cut".

There are options in Edit to "Cut/Copy/Move To", but it only acts on the currently viewed file. Which is fair.

What I'm asking for is a bulk operation to manipulate the selected files in the mark-lisk. Ideally this should be easily accessible in the right-click context menu in the marking list.

The "Copy" option that is currently there works like this. Ideally there should be a cut option here too, or a "select all files" if that's even possible since they may be spread in very different locations.

Sidenote:
Is there a way to hide the large > arrow when the mouse is over the image viewer? It's very distracting and I much prefer the normal cursor. In the regular viewer pane there's a marquee selection tool which is also fairly useful if you want to highlight something, but it's less important as I don't think you can do anything with the selected area. It would be useful to copy the pixels under the marquee selection, to then be able to paste them as a new image (quickly making a cropped copy essentially).

Adding more options to the right-click menu makes sense.

At the moment, you can do this by opening the marked file list as a collection, which can be set to happen automatically when closing the viewer, or via the command here in the viewer (which can be placed somewhere more convenient if you need it a lot):

Is that coming from Preferences / Viewer / Standalone Viewer / Mouse Buttons / Click left/right edges to go to previous/next picture? If so just turn it off again.

Yes, this was it. The default option was "Advance to the next image", which was less intuitive than the checkbox below (Click left/right edges to go to previous/next image).

But switching this option to "Select Clipboard Region" got me the behavior I desired, thanks!

This was the default behavior I got from migrating my Dopus 11 setup into 13, FWIW.

A few choices I think would make sense to have:

  • Unmark
  • Open as collection
  • Copy
  • Cut
  • Copy paths
  • Copy file names
  • Open location (if single file)
